Playa del Carmen I: Where we stayed

A well deserved vacation to Mexico after teaching and planning and working...Ron has stayed at the Sandos Playacar Resort and Spa  in the past and totally recommended it. So, off we went. The resort covers several hundred acres and includes a private beach facing the beautiful blue waters of the Carribean. I took some random photos that serve as an introduction --- but really, you must go. I totally recommend it...wishing I was there....

The registration area:

There were like eight or nine wonderful restaurants on the premises including:

A fancy (and fabulous) Asian restaurant:

And very fun Mexican establishment:
The food was awesome, and so beautifully prepared. Even the garnishes along the buffet tables and flowers...so many choices that made choosing difficult!

Carvings in melons:

A happy diner :)

What follows are some random shots taken randomly....

The residents here are not limited to people. Plenty of forests surround the resort, meaning there are plenty of animals to observe. I didn't get a picture of the resident burro...too boring when you have seen these critters all over the property:

And finally...saving the best for last...the view from my beach chair.....

Welcome to Playa Del Carmen. Will be telling much about what we did and experienced. Hope you enjoy the next several blogs --- and maybe learn a little about the Yucatan in the process. It is so beautiful in so many ways....
